Rey-David. Don't forget the hyphen.

Hey, I'm Elijah Rey-David, lover of Jesus, Spider-Man, and The Office. I'm a Puerto Rican creative writer born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I recently graduated from the CUNY Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York where I studied creative writing and publishing. I also conducted research on matters like the reader-writer relationship, postmodernism, and the Nuyorican movement as a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow.

While my career interests include academics, editing, and publishing my own work, I consider my leading values to be service and kindness. As such, I yearn to use my passions to advance the voices of marginalized communities. While my current research centers on the Nuyorican movement, in the years to come I'll look to expand my focus beyond the homes that shaped me.

With Rey-David Creative, I'm creating a centralized hub for all my passions and wacky ideas. Interested Internet passerby (peep the alliteration! Now y'all KNOW I write) will find short stories, poems, and whatever other mess I'm trying out.

Rey-David Creative is, at its heart, for those that journey. It's for folks who, like me, know that we're all in a process, and are working to come to terms with all of who we are. I hope you'll do me the honor, and journey with me.
